The power of public speaking
Through public speaking, a message is delivered verbally and nonverbally to a gathered group of people to personally touch them in some way: to “get” an idea, to share in a celebration, to inspire or motivate them to act in some way, to learn something they may not have known before the talk. As social beings, the group experience makes this a powerful experience.
Public Speaking Service
Over 30 years of speaking experience
I offer my services as a speaker at your event, being a problem-solver who likes to educate and inform and motivate others to take action.
I have over thirty years experience speaking before nonprofits, political organizations, environmental organizations, as a candidate in numerous political debates, and as a guest on live broadcasts.
I will help make your event memorable
Ideas, like seedlings, need nurturing. A well done speech grounds your ideas and helps bring to fruition your social cause so it doesn’t “die on the vine.” I have the experience and the stories to make your event memorable: whether it be a large-venue keynote address or campaign announcement, or a more modest get-together.
Will help like-minded organizations
In line with my experience and advocacy, I am particularly interested in working with organizations calling for diplomacy and peace (nonprofits and governmental organizations), social justice (such as Indigenous rights and refugee treatment), and environmental organizations (with the main topics of climate change, habitat loss, and species preservation).

What to Expect Working Together
Talking about the talk
We would require an initial consultation so you can convey to me your expectations of subject matter, the audience size, and the purpose of the talk. Here we would clarify whether I am to inform/introduce something, educate on a specific subject, guide/present options as solutions to a problem, motivate/inspire to take some action…or perhaps a reasonable blend.
I would also need to know logistics such as the time-slot to be filled and other circumstances of the event, including the possibility of filling in for a “no show.” And, I would need to be apprised of available multimedia capability and expectations regarding accompanying “slides,” if any.
How much notice do I need?
For most straightforward speeches not to exceed twenty minutes in delivery, a month should suffice for me to prepare and practice the speech. Once I know of the basic nature of the talk you wish me to give, its length, and the research I may have to do, we will firm up the schedule in writing.
