My Green Activism Experience
After being a Republican and then a Democrat I registered with the Green Party of California in 1995. I came for the perspectives on stewardship/creation-care, and I stayed because of the social justice platform. I was surprised to find that a political party known for environmentalism also had a strong commitment to social justice. Also, I liked that there was room for me to grow and find where I fit in. I got behind the Nader campaign, became a Nader delegate, and then became a presidential candidate, myself, in 2004 and then again in several subsequent cycles. | My Story
